Author Visit - Christine Ieronimo March 6, 2018
On March 6, 2018, author Christine Ieronimo visited the Vernon students. She is the author of A Thirst for Home: A Story of Water across the World. She was inspired to write her book when she visited her adopted daughter's village in Ethopia and saw first-hand how difficult it was for the people in the village to obtain clean water. Ms. Ieronimo's presentation gave the Vernon students insight into the great need for everyone in the world to have close access to clean, drinkable water.

Poetry Alive -March 17, 2017
Poetry Alive! is a high energy interactive performance intended to present poetry as fun and exciting.
The talented performers visited Vernon in March. Students were highly engaged and enjoyed acting out classic poems by authors such as Lewis Carroll, Robert Frost, and William Shakespeare!
Sixth grade students were also treated to individual class workshops which focused on public speaking skills such as stage presence and projecting one's voice. Students created short plays using the lines from a silly poem.
